Alexander Keshishyan is a renowned Syrian-Armenian ophthalmologist, intellectual, and public figure who has been a significant supporter of the centuries-long Armenian-Arab friendship. He has contributed greatly to the strengthening of this bond through his selfless and patriotic actions throughout his life. As a result, he can be considered the ambassador of Armenia in the Arab world. A. Keshishyan was born in Aleppo on April 19, 1943, to an Armenian father and an Arab mother. He attended the Armenian Krtasirats school in Aleppo, followed by the American Aleppo College and the Arab Raet al-Arabi schools. He later studied at the Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia from 1964 to 1971, where he specialized in ophthalmology under the supervision of Sergei Malayan. After completing his studies, he worked at the “Jebejyan Ophtalmological Center” from 1971 to 1974, which was the only institution of its kind in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
